For a full day of wildlife, Australia Zoo in Beerwah is well worth the drive, about 50 minutes south of Rosecliffe Farm Cottages.
Founded by Steve and Terri Irwin and carried on today by Bindi and Robert, it has grown from a small reptile park into one of the world's great wildlife conservation facilities, home to over 1,200 animals across habitats like the African Savannah and South-East Asia exhibits.
Kids (and grown-ups) can get up close with tigers, elephants, crocodiles and koalas, catch a live conservation show, and every ticket goes toward protecting species in the wild. A wonderful way to extend the animal-loving, hands-on spirit of a stay at Rosecliffe.
