Noosa Heads

Noosa Heads is a 45 minute drive from Rosecliffe Farm Cottages. Drive down from the rolling forested green hills of the Noosa Hinterland to a world of azure blue coral sea.

Here you can surf (Noosa Heads is a World Surfing Reserve), swim, snorkel or just recline on a white sandy beach. You can visit Noosa National Park or enjoy some of Australia's best restaurants along leafy Hastings Street, where there is plenty of choice for alfresco dining or a table by the sea. Have a drink on the deck at the Noosa Surf Club and watch the waves roll in.

You can find afternoon and night time live music at the Noosa Surf Club and Rococo Bistro & Bar on Hastings Street. The Noosa River mouth looking back onto the Hinterland is wonderful, especially at sunset, when many go down onto the sand with a chair and a bottle of wine and watch the reflections mirror on the wet sand.

If you're there on a Sunday, it's worth timing your visit around the Noosa Farmers Market (7am–noon), a lovely spot for fresh local produce, coffee and breakfast before heading down to the beach.

There are a number of Noosa Events that are exceptional:

  • Noosa Food & Wine Festival, now held in June (look to book accommodation well ahead),

  • Noosa Triathlon over the Halloween long weekend in late October/early November,

  • Noosa Festival of Surfing in late February/March

  • Noosa Jazz Party in September

A tip for guests: parking around Hastings Street and Noosa Main Beach fills up fast, especially in school holidays and during the events above, arriving early, or parking a little further out at Noosa Junction and walking down, is often easier than circling for a spot.
